Whisper soft roses emerging from a deep backdrop give this painting a haunting, romantic and poetic quality. At first glance the viewer might see a palette simply of dark and light, but there are blushing salmon pinks and soft yellows in the petals, and the shadowy background consists of warm umber and the deepest green. Signed by the artist in the lower right. 
The oil painting is framed in a champagne wood moulding featuring subtly ornate detail.  Ready to hang.
